Our Story
Dassie’s story began at my brother’s wedding. The theme was floral. I searched everywhere for a tie that would match the theme, but couldn’t find one. Every shop offered the same mass-produced ties with no character or meaning.
Chantelle then said: “Let’s make the tie ourselves.”
And that moment changed everything. The tie she created didn’t just complete the wedding look – it sparked the idea for Dassie.
Because we realised this wasn’t only my problem. It’s the story of thousands of men. Men wear ties to weddings, meetings, and life’s most important occasions – but most ties have no personality, no story, no emotion.
Dassie was born from that need: to create ties that are unique, handcrafted, locally made, and that carry meaning and personal stories.
